We ensure that the shear rams and/or cutting devices are appropriate for the tubulars to be used in the well adjusted for Maximum Anticipated Surface Pressure (MASP) and depth.
We provide independent third‐party verification that well control equipment is capable of shearing tubulars as per requirements such as API Standard 53 and 30 CFR §250. We do this by performing shearing calculations (in-office) as well as witnessing any relevant shear tests or review of shearing test data and adjusting for MASP and depth.
